CERAMICS, METAL

The abstract traffic signs, which break free from their mundane role, aim to give these otherwise simplistic signs a distinct character and to increase their information content. The language of the traffic system, developed in the form of signs at the turn of the 20th century, is transformed into ceramic material. The damp clay slabs are painted and immediately deformed, creating a unique shape for each object through a random act. This results in motifs created by the action of force, such as a human body print or the relief of objects that connect to their surroundings on the street. The collision of the road sign and object dissolves the usual symmetry of typical street signs, creating new objects that hang in an abstract form of normality. These new signs have their own body, distinct facial features, and a humorous demeanor. The newly created asymmetry provides new interpretation possibilities,  as these abstractions are rooted in associations. In this new reality, the objects radiate emancipation as they break free from their role of upholding the law.
